Oilgear Skidder Pumps

Recieved via email: "i currently have two skidders down waiting
for oilgear pumps. one came in for a 460 cable skidder. problem... the
oilgear pump that came was set up for only one o-ring fitting. i need two.
also there was no solenoid post. can i just change a hose and put a
fitting in to accomodate the lack of two o-ring fittings. does the
solenoid post go in somewhere different? also the compensator was on
backwards. will not fit in this way. can i customize this, or did the
wrong pump arrive?"

Standard Oilgear pumps are different in a few ways from the OEM (Original Equipemet Manufaturer) skidder pumps. On a standard Oilgear pump, the compensator is the pointing the same way whether the pump is counter clockwise or clockwise. On an OEM skidder pump, the compensators are different from clockwise pumps to counter clockwise pumps. You cannot turn the compensator around. I think you were sent a standard Oilgear pump and not the OEM pump required for your skidder. Standard Oilgear pumps don't usually have a port in the end cap for an unloading valve (although they can be ordered that way), and they usually only have one case drain port. Is it the case drain port that you are reffering to as 'oring fittings'. On units with two case drain ports, they are used for case flushing to keep your pump running a bit cooler. If your endcap, compensator and pump body are in good shape, you can take the rotating group out of your new pump, and install in your old pump. I would just send the pump back as it is not correct. If you got a line mount body to fit your cartridge valve, you could install it as an external unloading valve by teeing it into the pressure line and also providing a drain line, but as mentioned if it were me I would send it back and get them to give you the right pump.
