Vickers rotating group replacement

We have several Tennant sweepers that use a Vickers TA-15V10-1B-11543 transmission. I've replaced rotating groups 923062 several times and noticed length of pins 248811 can vary .125" between rotating groups purchased. The longer pins require the rotating group to be compressed to remove/reinstall bearing race and retaining ring on shaft. I think this would cause increased pressure placed on the valve plate by the cylinder block. Is there a reason for the varying pin lengths and should I be concerned about it? I would also like to know what length 248811 pins should be.
